Model 837, 1909 MHz (CW, CDMA, TDMA) exposure to human cell lines and bacteria and analysis of DNA damage

Salmonela typhimurium/E.coli & mouse lymphoma reverse mutation assays and analysis of chromosomal aberrations in human blood lymphocytes was performed following exposure to 837 MHz CDMA, TDMA & analogue signals and 1909 MHz PCS signals. Exposures were performed at 1, 2.5, 5, and 10 W/kg for 3 hours in a TEM cell. Repeat test using 10 W/kg for 21 hours were also performed. The cells were initially suspended in 10 ml of media in the tubes, but pelleted into the bottom 1 ml of the tube immediately before the exposures. FDTD models indicated the cells in the bottom 1 ml pellet may have been exposed to as much as 2x the average SAR levels in certian "hot spots". Results indicated no mutagenicity or clastogenicity due to any of the exposures tested.
