Model 900 MHz (CW) exposure of rats and analysis of oxidative stress enzyme levels

Wistar rats (n = 20) were exposed to 900 MHz (CW) 2 hrs/day for 35 days at an estimated SAR of 0.9 W/kg and evaluated for glutathione peroxidase and superoxide dismutase activity in brain, liver, and sperm tissue. The authors reported at the 2008 URSI meeting a significant decrease in the activity of both GPx and SOD and a significant increase in catalase activity with RF exposure.
